this blog post contains the weekly progress and plan for my documentary project
Week 2: during week 2 we started to do research about different crime documentaries, we watched some intros of documentaries in class and wrote about what we think will happen and what connotations does it have to crime documentaries. we also started doing our blogs, we added the brief, team, weekly progress and research blog.
Week 3: this week we continued the research and watched more documentaries, i really enjoyed watching the documentaries being played in class and it made me want to continue watching to find out what happens next. we also started doing the statement of intent with my group and we brainstormed all the possible ideas we could do to make our documentary. we also learned about a new theory for media regulation and we discussed about how the media can be mislead or manipulated by consumers or large media companies, we also did mini debates discussing about the different topics of media regulation.
Week 5: this week we started to make a filming schedule for our documentary project. we also continued making the storyboard, script and started to recruit casts for our documentary. we also did theory lesson and big research about media representations and the jessica wongso case. we also used ai to form a good 15 mark answer from the research we did. by the end of this week our group is planning to start our first filming where we are going to shoot the interviews from the witnesses and relatives.
Week 6: this week were introduced to the CR, we were given a google docs consisting of all the questions from each CR. the CR was very different from the one last year where we had to create presentations and posters, while this year we only need to write an essay. this week we also started filming, we filmed interviews, and vlogs for our documentary opening project. we still need a few more interviews to film and we also might have to reshoot an interview because of the bad audio quality.
Week 7: this week i created the behind the scenes blog post for our documentary opening project, this reminded me to take more photos during the filming process. our group also started editing and got some feedback from our teacher. we still need to reshoot some interviews because of the bad audio quality which we will do this week.
